Tata Nexon EV

The most-awaited Tata Nexon Ev is the most recent launch by Tata Motors. Launched on 28th January 2020, this is the first fully electric SUV from an Indian automobile company. The car houses a permanent magnet AC motor powered by Lithium-Ion battery back-up, which is certified from IP67 and liquid-cooled. The specialty of the model is that it is equipped with new Ziptron electric powertrain technology. Available in 3 variants – XM, XZ+, and XZ Lux. 30.2 kWh battery offers a wide range of about 300 km (in the single charge). 80% battery can be charged in 60 mins using a fast charger. The powertrain put out 245 Nm of peak torque that delivers clock triple digital speed. Other features include electric sunroof, automatic rain-sensing wipers, premium leather upholstery, automatic headlamps, speed sensing auto-lock doors, and a 7-inch touchscreen display.

Mahindra eKUV100

The car is expected to be launched in June this year. Dr. Pawan Goenka, MD, and CEO has declared the launch date of the model. The company has already begun the testing of this electric car, which is said to be powered by a 3-phase AC induction motor that delivers 39.6 BHP at 3500 RPM with the maximum torque of 91Nm at 1050 RPM. The model utilizes a 72V lithium-ion battery and claims to offer a range of 140 km in a single charge. You can expect the showcase of the model at Autoexpo 2020.

MG ZS EV

MG ZS EV is another launch by MG after the Hector. The model was launched on 23 January 2020 and is available in Excite and Exclusive variants. With the launch, the company has taken its first step to electric auto space. MG ZS EV is equipped with a 3-phase permanent synchronous electric magnet motor that produces 35000 rpm and has a peak torque output of 353 Nm at 5,000 rpm. It is powered with 44.5kWh battery (IP67 certified), which is dust resistant and waterproof up to a depth of 1 meter. Asclaimed by ARAI, it offers a range of 340Km.

Ford Aspire EV 

Co-developed by Ford and Mahindra, Ford Aspire EV is a full-size model, unlike the compact Sedan. Supported by 25kWh, the model will run up 82hp motor and offers a range of 150km. It is said the car-makers will sell their own versions but with minimal change, also, it features a larger boot.  

BMW i8 Roadster 

Last but not the least, BMW i8 Roadster is expected to be launched by the end of this year. The model features a plug-in hybrid and offers a range of 50km. The model is supported by a 143hp/250Nm electric motor along with a 231hp/320Nm and has a 1.5-liter petrol range.
